Brian Calloway of the Lansing State Journal is reporting that after 51 years at the helm of the Grand Ledge baseball program, Pat O'Keefe has decided to retire.

O'Keefe has coached the Comets since 1968 (with one year off in 1969 to play minor league baseball in the Houston Astros system).  He has over 1,300 career wins (the most ever in the State of Michigan) with a pair of Class A state titles in 1977 and 1995, and state finals appearances in 1993 and 2001.

Pat is a charter member of the Michigan Baseball Hall of Fame (at Lansing's Cooley Law School Stadium), a member of the Michigan Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame, and is also in the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame.
