In hopes to stop the spread of COVID-19, Mayor Andy Schor announced that Lansing's City Hall and other city facilities will be closed until further notice, according to WILX.

City buildings will be closed to the public due to Executive Order 2021-01. City Hall, as well as other city buildings, shall remain accessible to appointments only.

“The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Ingham County continues to be a concern and restricting the number of people in City facilities will help keep both our City employees and residents healthy,” Mayor Schor commented. “We are monitoring the situation closely and working with the Ingham County Health Department to determine when City facilities can safely reopen.”

At this time, the State of Michigan is currently in group 1-B of vaccinations. This group includes those at greater risk such as older adults and frontline workers.

At this time though, demand for vaccines has been higher than what the manufactures can keep up with.
