Here is something fun for not only kids but also parents as the Lansing School District is holding a book drive today (October 6th) for their Reading is Fundamental program. The book drive is a perfect place for your kids to grab a book they might need or maybe get a new one to help learn even more.

The Reading is Fundamental book drive is happening October 6th from 4pm to 6p at Dr. Eva L. Evans Welcome Center (2400 Pattengill Ave, Lansing, MI 48910). The RIF book drive is open to all kids from Kindergarten to 12th grade.

The book drive will be held inside the Welcome Center, but due to social distancing you will have to stay in the car. This might seem strange but there will be staff at the book drive to help and the process will go like this:

  1. Drive through the line and stay in your car.
  2. Your child picks out two books. There will be staff that will help you and your child pick out books they want unless they have choices already.
  3. Staff that are health screened will retrieve the books your child wants.
  4. Then take your books and head home to enjoy them.
