Lansing Meijer Theft Results In Police Chase, Crash

It was a mess at Michigan and Waverly on Wednesday afternoon after a car ran a red light and slammed into two other cars.  It all began at Meijer on Saginaw, when authorities were alerted to a theft in progress.  The suspects made it outside to a waiting car.  That car left Meijer; police located it near Chick-fil-A and executed a traffic stop.  WILX-TV says the car stopped as instructed, but when police instructed the driver to shut the engine off, the driver fled.  The blue Nissan led police on a short chase that ended at Michigan and Waverly.  Fortunately, there were only minor injuries as a result of the accident.
