Here's another reason why Lansing is so great, according to a recent article from the Mid-America Careers site, Lansing is ranked #4 in the Top Midwest Cities for College Graduates.
You can see the full Mid-American Careers article here, but it ranks each of the cities based on the cost of living, employment, career choices, and attractions.
Lansing is ranked #4 beating other Midwest cities like Cincinnati, Chicago, and St. Louis. Some of the other reasons why Lansing is top city is cause college graduates earn a median income of close to $42,000 and Lansing has more jobs advertised per capita than almost anywhere else in the country. It’s also home to one Fortune 1,000 company, Auto-Owners Insurance Group.
The other cities to have beat Lansing are all bigger in population and size than Lansing, (Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Kansas City) and Lansing was the only Michigan city that made the list. So whether you graduate from Michigan State or U of M, it looks like Lansing might be your landing spot after college.
