Lady Gaga surprised young fans at Gillette Children's Hospital in Minnesota yesterday, May 21. Gaga, who had been in town to perform on Tuesday, also apparently surprised the hospital itself with her visit as staff were reportedly only notified a few hours before that Gaga would be stopping by and had "no idea" she planned to visit while in town. Way to keep it under wraps, Mother Monster!

Gaga's visit went off without a hitch, performing songs and spending one-on-one time with patients, who were no doubt delighted to see the kind-hearted singer in the flesh.

According to NBC-affliate KARE 11, Gaga had previously been introduced to a patient named Emma Caroll, and gave her and Gillette's Cure Pity movement a shout-out during her show at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She later spent time with Emma and several other patients while visiting the hospital the next day.

We have no doubt that Gaga fully supports the idea behind the Cure Pity movement, which is rooted in the notion of moving attitude towards people with disabilities away from pity and towards acceptance.
