Hopefully, all pet owners already know how to make sure that their pet is safe when it gets super hot. However, this is a good reminder that was posted on by the Clinton County Emergency Services on their Facebook page this week.

If you think the heat has affected your pet, here are some signs of heat stress from the American Veterinary Medical Association:

  • Anxiousness
  • Excessive panting
  • Restlessness
  • Excessive drooling
  • Unsteadiness
  • Abnormal gum and tongue color
  • Collapse
