Walmart Remodeling 15 Stores in Michigan — Is Yours on the List?
The last time I was in the Grand Blanc Walmart, it didn’t feel outdated… but that doesn’t mean others around the state aren’t. In fact, some need a total overhaul.
The company just announced it’s remodeling 15 stores across Michigan this year, and the goal is pretty simple, make shopping faster, easier, and a little less chaotic.
What Changes Are Coming to Walmart Stores in Michigan?
According to MLive, this isn’t just a fresh coat of paint. Basically, they’re reworking the layout, upgrading the tech throughout the store, and adding more services.

They’re also leaning hard into speed. You’ll be able to order online and get your stuff picked up or delivered in as little as an hour. That alone is going to be huge for a lot of people.
The app is getting an upgrade, too, so you can actually find stuff in your local store without wandering around for 20 minutes like we’ve all done. That’s been a pain since day one.
The tech side is what interests me the most. I’m really curious what they’re planning, but they didn’t really get into that.
More Pharmacy and In-Store Upgrades at Walmart
Pharmacies are getting a boost, too, with more affordable meds, vaccines, and expanded services. If you’re a Walmart Plus member, you’ll also get free pharmacy delivery. Vision centers are being updated as well.

This isn’t some small project either. Walmart says it’s poured about $546 million into Michigan stores over the last five years.
And nationally, they’re planning to remodel 650 stores in 2026 alone.
