It's shaping up to be another great weekend for some Mid-Michigan summer fun! Check out some of the cool things you could get into this first weekend of August.


Ingham County Fair

Several county fairs are happening around the region, including the Ingham County Fair in Mason, going on now through Saturday (August 6). The carnival midway is open daily at 1pm. and demolition derbies are on tap both Friday and Saturday nights.


Saginaw County Fair

Unlimited midway rides are included with the $15 cost of admission at the Saginaw County Fair. There's no additional cost to attend grandstand events either, including motocross on Thursday, side-by-side races on Friday, and the rodeo on Saturday night. This fair wraps up August 6.


Milan Music Fest

The Milan Music Fest brings Mid-Michigan some of the best in bluegrass. This festival is held at KC Campground in Milan, and runs through Saturday (August 6). Featured performers this week include Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, The Lonesome River Band, The Malpass Brothers, Russell Moore & IIIrd Time Out, and Rhonda Vincent & The Rage.


 

Monroe County Fair

The Monroe County Fair runs through Saturday (August 6). Midway rides open at 1pm daily--noon on Saturday. Grandstand events to close out the week include a tractor pull on Thursday night, a monster truck show on Friday, and a concert on Saturday night featuring Tesla with special guest Firehouse.


The Good Times in Goodrich Festival

Just outside Flint you'll find the Good Times in Goodrich Festival, happening Friday and Saturday (August 5-6). Organizers affectionately refer to it as "the biggest small festival that nobody's heard of". There's a car and truck show, the Friday Night "Hoedown in G Town" featuring mechanical bull riding and more, and lots of live music both days.

The Buy Michigan Now Festival is happening Friday through Sunday (August 5-7) on Main and Center Streets in downtown Northville. This event boasts "Michigan-made products abound including accessories, apparel, art, beverages, candles, foods, jewelry, home decor, skincare, woodwork, and more." Enjoy live music and plenty of food as well!


 

Hispanic Festival 2022

Hispanic Festival 2022 will be held at Calder Plaza in Grand Rapids Friday through Sunday (August 5-7). It's a weekend full of Latin food, dance, live music and fun!


Island Art Fair

The 49th Annual Island Art Fair is Saturday, August 6 in Grand Ledge. This free event brings artists and crafters from all over Michigan, offering visitors a boundless variety of unique quality creations. Take a riverboat ride to the Island!


Grand Blanc Art Fair

The Grand Blanc Art Fair is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (August 6-7) at Physician's Park near downtown Grand Blanc. Arts and crafts using all sorts of media are represented, including metal, sculpture, glass, painting, photography, wood, and jewelry.


 

Shiawassee County Fair

The Shiawassee County Fair kicks off Sunday (August 7) in Corunna and runs all next week. Sunday's main event is the TNT Bump and Run, with plenty more activities to follow throughout the week.


Jackson County Fair

The Jackson County Fair also begins Sunday (August 7) at Keeley Park in Jackson, and runs all next week. This year's fair kicks off with a pair of legendary comedians: Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy. Great tickets are still available here.
