I've lived in Michigan my entire life, all 30+ years of it. And even though things are always changing, there are some things that remain the same, particularly when it comes to winter in Michigan.
Sure, some winters are warmer or colder than others. But, in the scheme of things, we're always going to see cold temperatures and snow.
Michigan Winters
And cold weather and snow bring its own set of issues.
Whether it's weird behavior, poor decision-making, or just trying to survive, here are seven things you're bound to see during a Michigan winter.
1. Someone wearing shorts.
My neighbor is constantly guilty of shoveling snow wearing shorts. Aren't you cold?
2. A house that looks like Christmas threw up on it.
Their electric bill must be crazy.

3. A car in the ditch.
Slow down, there's ice everywhere.
4. Someone who didn't clean the snow off the top of their car.
This is a jerk move. Clean off the top of your car. It's Michigan law. Also, it can be super dangerous for anyone driving behind you.
5. A giant pile of snow in the middle of a parking lot that doesn't thaw until April.
That pile of snow will be the last vestige of winter well into spring.
6. Someone uses their credit card as an emergency ice scraper.
Please invest in something industrial strength.
7. Kids wait for the bus dressed like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
They have to stay warm somehow.
