There’s a New Ice Cream Place in Old Town Lansing
It's summertime in Michigan, and I don't know about you, Michigan summers are synonymous with ice cream. So I was surprised to learn that there was a new ice cream shop in Lansing that I hadn't been to yet.
But don't worry, I changed that.
Have you heard about one of the newest additions to Old Town?
Welcome, Scoops Ice Cream.
Scoops Ice Cream Recently Opened in Old Town Lansing
Well, I should say reopened.
Scoops originally opened in the summer of 2016, serving up MSU Dairy Store ice cream back then just like they do today. After being in business for a few years, they seemingly closed. But, now they're back!
I got the opportunity to give it a try recently, and it was so delicious!
And the customer service was fantastic. The only thing I could see as a possible downside would be that there are only two parking spots. However, there is street parking and plenty of places to walk from nearby.

Did you know that Scoops wasn't always Scoops?
Scoops Ice Cream was actually built in 1923 to be a "Pulver Brother's Sinclair Filling Station", making it the oldest filling station in the Mid-Michigan area.
This building has been restored in such a beautiful way that it's officially part of The Nation Register of Historic Places.
While Scoops may not be the only place in Lansing to grab some ice cream, it's definitely worth the trip.
However, if you want to check out other ice creameries, there are plenty around. Have you heard of ice cream nachos? Because places like Artic Corner serve them. Maybe take your taste buds on a little ice cream journey before the summer is up?
