We Have to Say Goodbye to Another Lansing Area Restaurant That’s Closed its Doors
The Greater Lansing Foodie scene is an ever-changing one, and sometimes that change comes in the way of a restaurant having to close its doors.
A Longtime Okemos Restaurant Has Officially Closed
As is the cyclical nature of restaurants sometimes, they come and they go. Sometimes they're here briefly, but other times, they stick with us for a while. And that's the case with this latest closure of a business that called Okemos home for nearly 25 years.
Say goodbye to Stillwater Grill in Okemos.
The Lansing State Journal reports that the Stillwater Grill closed its doors for the last time on Sunday, April 28th. Kevin Gudejko, the president and CEO of Mainstreet Ventures Restaurant Group, said that they remained open through the weekend specifically to make sure that those visiting for MSU's graduating weekend.
The reason, in part, for closing is because Stillwater Grill never really got back up to pre-Covid and pandemic levels, which really hurt the business.
Lansing Restaurant Closures
Unfortunately, Stillwater Grill was not the only restaurant that was hit hard by Covid. Over the last year or two, we've seen a great many closures that cited the same or similar issues. The last three months alone have seen Ellison Brewery and Event Space in REO Town shut its doors, as well as Old Chicago in Okemos.

It's always so sad to lose a local business, particularly one that has been in town for so long. Patrons are very sad to see it go.
