Why Manistee Truly Is the Most Underrated Town in Michigan
The website chose Manistee.

Real talk - Manistee doesn't get a lot of attention from major travel guides. It isn't completely overrun by vacationers in the summer. And the city seems to like it that way.
What Does Manistee, Michigan, Have to Offer?
Manistee is a gold mine for history buffs. At one time, there were more millionaires per capita in Manistee than anywhere else in the nation - thanks to the exploding lumber industry back in the late 1800s.

There are multiple guided historical tours a visitor can take in and around Manistee, including more than a dozen locations on the National Register of Historic Places.
Manistee's location right on Lake Michigan affords some beautiful scenery, undiscovered by most Michigan visitors.
Those who do choose to visit Manistee are likely to find high quality experiences that don't cost quite as much as they might in more popular destinations. Crowds aren't usually a major problem either.
