Most of us are probably somewhere in between, but in the event money is no object when it comes to your grocery bill - has Michigan got a store for you! Eight of them, to be exact.

Michigan's Most Expensive Grocery Store

The foodie website Delish recently revealed the five most expensive grocery stores in America. They point out:

There are many factors that contribute to grocery-store prices. The supply chain, an area’s cost of living, ingredient quality, and other supermarket competitors are just some of the variables that can impact your grocery bill.

With all the numbers crunched and all the data calculated, it turns out that only one of the nation's five most expensive grocery stores has locations in Michigan.

Whole Foods has stores in Detroit, Birmingham, Rochester Hills, West Bloomfield, Kentwood, and East Lansing, along with two in Ann Arbor.

The high-end grocery chain was founded in 1980 and has always had the reputation of being a little too fancy for some shoppers. Delish points out that although Amazon purchased Whole Foods in 2017 and helped bring down some prices, the store "still remains financially inaccessible to many shoppers. And now, with the rising cost of living, the store’s exclusivity is even more blatant."
