Here’s What You Heard and Saw Fly Over Lansing

Don't worry, it was nothing insidious, it was just the Michigan Air National Guard.

Michigan Air National Guard Flyover Event

The Michigan Air National Guard Flew over Downtown Lansing at about 12:20 this afternoon as part of a flyover event that took place not only across the state of Michigan but across the nation.

The United States Air Force commemorated "100 years of aerial refueling excellence" with this flyover event.

Where Did the Air National Guard Flyover Michigan?

Different aerial vehicles (the KC-135 Stratotanker flying in formation with A-10 Thunderbolt IIs) flew all across the state of Michigan. Here are the flyovers that were made in the order they were made;

• Port Huron
• Alpena
• Mackinaw City
• Maple City
• Grand Rapids
• Battle Creek
• Lansing
• Detroit
• Selfridge

After everything was said and done, the pilots and aerial vehicles made that entire journey in just over two hours. You can see a map of their route below.

Fog and Smoke Obstruct Views of Michigan Flyover Event

If you wanted to catch a glimpse of these planes making their way over Lansing, hopefully, you got a good view. Fog prevented onlookers from spotting it in Port Huron.

Plus, Lansing and many other parts of Michigan are suffering from reduced visibility due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires making its way south.
