Where to Find Lansing's Tiny Trinket Trading Libraries

If you've driven through any Greater Lansing area neighborhood, I guarantee you've seen one of these before: it's a Little Free Library.

It's exactly what the name suggests. It's a teeny, tiny little library where the books are free. The idea is you can take a book or you can leave a book. Or heck, do both!

The whole idea behind Little Free Libraries is to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access. I absolutely love this initiative as well as all the cute looks of the different libraries! People get really creative with it.

Keep this concept in mind when I tell you that I just learned about a trinket library in Lansing.

What Is a Trinket Library?

If you like trinkets, baubles, tchotchkes, and other adorable little goodies, this is the kind of library for you. It's the same concept as the little free library, but with trinkets instead of books. So you can leave a trinket, take a trinket, or do both.

This particular trinket box is located on Byrnes Road between Delta River Drive and Aragon Drive and was made by 10-year-old Helena. She saw the concept of a trinket box on social media and loved the idea so much that she made her own.

Where to Find Trinket Trading Posts Around Greater Lansing

After digging in a little deeper, it seems like there are a few places to trade trinkets in the Greater Lansing area:

A Peek Inside Beachy's Bake and Brew and Beachyville in Caseville, Michigan

If you take a road trip anywhere in Michigan this summer, I highly recommend checking out the sensational Beachy's Bake and Brew in Caseville, Michigan. Owner Kyle has put her artistic and creative touch on every square inch on her combination coffee shop/gift shop/eatery/imaginative endeavor. Check out how cool and imaginative her businesses are.

ALook at Portrait of a Dreamer, aka Gear Head - The Giant Head Statue in Lansing, Michigan

Michigan-based Ivan Iler was commissioned by the City of Lansing to build Portrait of a Dreamer. Portrait of a Dreamer is 15-foot-tall, stainless steel, interactive statue on Michigan Avenue in Lansing, Michigan. There's a crank in the front of the statue that allows you to turn the gears in its head and the ones spilling out.
