Yes, they're predictable. Yes, they may be cheesy. But for some, they're a highlight of the holiday season.
Talking about Hallmark Christmas movies.

Love 'em or hate 'em, they're back like clockwork every year. Some people binge them, some people just have them on in the background.
The formula's pretty basic: career-driven lead character finds love, joy, and Christmas spirit through small-town traditions, family and unexpected romance. Lather, rinse, repeat.
We figured we'd try our hand at coming up with some proposals for some Michigan-themed Hallmark Christmas movies. What do you think of these?
A Very Cherry Christmas
A big city ad-exec is sent to Traverse City to help rebrand a struggling cherry orchard's Christmas festival. While working alongside the orchard's charming owner, she discovers the magic of small-town life, the warmth of family traditions, and just maybe love - sweet love - amidst the snow-dusted cherry trees.
Come on. That's a Hallmark movie just waiting to happen.
Lights on the Lake
An ambitious event planner is hired to revitalize the holiday celebrations on Mackinac Island. She's forced to team up with a reluctant local historian who insists on preserving Mackinac's old-school charm. Together, they re-discover the beauty of timeless traditions, complete with horse-drawn sleigh rides and a lantern-lit walk along the shore of Lake Huron on Christmas Eve.
You know you'd watch that.
The Magic of Motown
A music producer returns to Detroit to oversee a holiday charity concert featuring the best of Motown. She reconnects with her childhood sweetheart - now a struggling music teacher - and together, they work to bring back the spirit of the season through song.
Because of course they do.
Snowfall at Sleeping Bear
A travel writer visits Sleeping Bear Dunes to do a story about its winter beauty, but gets stranded in a blizzard. She's taken in by a kindly park ranger, who helps her navigate the snow-covered dunes and introduces her to some cozy small-town Christmas festivities. Look out, she just might be falling in love!
This is too easy.
Christmas in Copper Country
A geology professor studying Upper Michigan's copper mines during her winter break stumbles across an old Christmas treasure map. She and a spirited local innkeeper head out together through snow-covered forests and frozen waterfalls, discovering not just history - but also holiday romance!
Are you listening, Hallmark?
Tinsel in Tulip Town
A stressed-out interior designer returns to her hometown of Holland, Michigan, to help her parents decorate their Dutch-inspired inn for Christmas. She's drawn into a spirited competition against her childhood rival to create Holland's most dazzling Christmas display. Surprisingly (or not), she falls back in love with Holland - and her old rival.
Bells Over Belle Isle
A corporate lawyer inherits her grandma's small community theater on Belle Isle, which is in danger of shutting down. She decides to put on a heartwarming Christmas play in an effort to save it. With the help of a charismatic director and a passionate group of volunteers, she finds her voice, her purpose, and at last - a chance at love.
Seriously. Someone get Hallmark on the phone.
