Get Loaded Food Truck Is Expanding With Its First Brick-and-Mortar

The Lansing restaurant scene has really grown in the first half of 2026, with over 25 different openings. Now, we're going to add another opening to the list.

Get Loaded Is Expanding Beyond the Food Truck

Get Loaded is a food truck owned by Michigan State graduate Ismal Jaber and based out of Haslett, Michigan. However, it's getting a brick-and-mortar location in Okemos.

Get Loaded will be joining another family-operated food truck—From Scratch—to take over the space at 2398 Jolly Road. This space was the former home to Tantay, a Peruvian restaurant that closed in July 2025 after the owner suffered from a medical emergency.

When the brick-and-mortar location opens its doors, the menu will feature a mix of Get Loaded and From Scratch offerings. From Scratch serves Mediterranean cuisine. Get Loaded is a bit more carb-focused. Here's how the menu works:

1. Choose a base (mac & cheese, nachos, or fresh-cut fries)
2. Choose a style

Currently, diners can choose from five different styles that all include some kind of protein, toppings, and sauce. The one that's calling my name is The Philly Classic—it comes topped with Philly steak, caramelized onions, ranch, jalapenos, and melted cheddar. The menu also includes a variety of homemade desserts, like baklava, and drinks, like mango lemonade.

When Will Get Loaded Open?

At this time, there is no word on an exact opening date. However, they do hope to open sometime this summer.
