And sadly, it can sometimes change for the worse when we lose a restaurant. Now is another one of those times.

Lansing Restaurants That Have Closed

Before the New Year began, Ellison Brewery made the announcement via social media that they'd be closing the REO Town location.

It was with sadness that they made the announcement. However, they cited some very legitimate reasons, many of which have caused other recent closures. You can read their goodbyes and their plans for the future below.

The last day for the REO Town Ellison Brewery was January 30th, 2023. It was less than a year ago that Ellison had its grand opening, which took place February 12th, 2023.

Patrons are sad to see the location close. One Amanda Langfeldt said,

I’m so sad to hear this! We got married here and our wedding was beautiful. Everyone talked about how great the food and drinks were, and what an amazing space it was.

It is tragic to hear that Lansing is losing another good business, particularly one that hadn't been open for very long. Thankfully, all the employees have been offered jobs at the original Ellison Brewery & Spirits in East Lansing.

In looking towards the future, Ellison has decided to refocus efforts and energies on the East Lansing location, bringing back some old beer recipes, changing up the menu, making upgrades to the patio area and more.
