This Weekend Around Lansing: Gardens, Babies, Corgis and More
There are lots of St. Patrick's Day activities to plug into around Mid-Michigan this weekend, but if you're looking for something different, we have some ideas.
The Lansing Home & Garden Show
The Lansing Home & Garden Show is happening Thursday (3/16) through Sunday (3/19) at MSU Pavilion. Looking to spruce up your house and/or landscaping? Take advantage of four full days of ideas and experts.
Bring your Jeep or other 4-wheel drive vehicle to Jeep Night in the parking lot behind Roma's Back Door in Owosso this Friday night (3/17) beginning at 6pm. Participants are invited to "drive your jeep, check out other jeeps and talk about jeeps with other like-minded off-roaders". The event is hosted by GenRight Off-Road, Mickey Thompson, and Joez Garage.
Curwood Festival Beautiful Baby Contest
Got a cute baby? Enter him or her into the Curwood Festival Beautiful Baby Contest! The event is scheduled to begin at 10am on Saturday (3/18) at the Corunna Community Center. Young ones from 6 months to 59 months of age are eligible to participate.
Gun Violence Prevention Workshop
A Gun Violence Prevention Workshop will be held Saturday (3/18) from 10am to 2pm at Lansing's Allen Neighborhood Center. The public is invited to join in a "discussion with local nonprofits and policy makers about ways to decrease gun violence".
March Folk & Bluegrass Jam
Get that old-time feeling at the March Folk & Bluegrass Jam this Sunday (3/19) from 2pm to 5pm at Woldumar Nature Center in Lansing. Learn flatpicking and enjoy live performances including acoustic jam sessions as well.
Corgis on Ice
Corgis are already irresistible... but "Corgis on Ice"? That's next level. Corral your corgi and get to Van Andel Arena for the Grand Rapids Griffins' annual "Dog Game" this Sunday (3/19) beginning at 5pm. Hang with other corgis and their owners and enjoy a few hours of hockey while you're at it. A group photo will be taken on center ice right after the game.
