One Michigan Eatery is Home to the ‘Best Sandwich’ in the State

Love Food recently put together their list of the "best sandwich" in every state, and only one Michigan eatery can hold the title.

Pizza is delicious; tacos are fantastic; but, I feel like the best kind of food is a sandwich.

So when I saw that the veritable experts on food (Love Food) put together this list, I had to see who was on it... mostly because I knew that a road trip to whoever Michigan's winner was would be absolutely necessary. Not to mention looking at drool-worthy sandwiches from every other state as well.

Sandwich lovers know that a sandwich is more than mere meat and cheese slapped between some bread; it's about quality ingredients coming together to offer that perfect bite of flavor and texture.

The Best Sandwich in Michigan

If you're on the hunt for a fantastic lunch, a road trip to Ann Arbor might be in order.

The home for the best sandwich in Michigan is at Zingerman's Deli in Ann Arbor. 

Zingerman's has a reputation for putting forth a delectable sandwich, so much so that even Oprah rated one of their sandwiches an "11" on a scale of 1 to 5.

But out of all of their sandwiches (and there's a heck of a lot of them, by the way), there's one that's been given the honor of the "best sandwich" in Michigan, and that's #2 Zingerman's Reuben (pictured at the top of the Instagram post below).

This is their OG Reuben that's been on the menu since they opened in 1982 and they sell about 50,000 of these bad boys a year. It's made with "award-winning Jewish rye, Zingerman's corned beef, Emmental cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing."
