Have you been feeling nostalgic lately? I have. I've been thinking about some of my favorite Lansing area restaurants and venues that have closed over the past 20 years. Could anyone else go for a piece of DeLuca's pizza?

The pandemic forced longtime, legendary, Lansing area businesses to close. Some businesses went out of business because some owners wanted to retire. Regardless of why these businesses closed, we still miss them in Lansing.

The Pretzel Bell

The Pretzel Bell was located on Trowbridge right off the campus of MSU. When I moved to the Lansing area I went there a few times and enjoyed the food and ambiance. I was new to town so I thought this was a little fancier than other restaurants.

Deluca's

Deluca's was located on Lansing's North Side. The pizza was outstanding and so were the pasta dishes. I am a fan of black and green olives, they used to have an olive bowl appetizer I ordered a lot.

Leo's Outpost

This used to be one of my favorite watering holes until I sobered up. I don't think me retiring from drinking forced them out of business. The Snake Bites were tasty, chunks of steak served as an appetizer.

Rum Runners

Located right across from the ballpark in downtown Lansing, Rum Runners was always a ton of fun. The dueling pianos never got old. A new crowd every night provided the entertainers a new crowd to roast.

DeMarco's

The first Italian place I visited when I moved to Lansing. Their pizza was great, the sauce is what made it awesome. DeMarco's later turned into Leo's Outpost.

Theio's

This was the go to place for many late night party goers. If you wanted greasy food Theio's was the place to go. They were open 24 hours and always had a steady stream of business.

Brower's Hardware

Brower's had a deli in the back of the hardware store that crafted some serious "Dagwood" style sandwiches. Grab your hardware and a sandwich.
