Mackinaw City is one of my favorite destinations in Michigan and there are many reasons as to why.

One of the them is the Mackinac Bridge. There is not a better sight to see in Michigan than the historic Mackinac Bridge.

As you're driving north on I-75 and you are just a few miles away from Mackinaw City, the first thing you will see from your vehicle is the 5-mile long beautiful Mackinaw Bridge. It's a breathtaking sight to see!

This is one of the perks of taking a trip to Mackinaw City. There is so much to see and do in Mackinaw City, including plenty of outdoor activities.

Have you ever went parasailing in Mackinaw City? Talk about a blast. My wife and I went parasailing about ten years ago and we got the best view of the Straits of Mackinac. We had so much fun and highly recommend parasailing to everyone.

Another fun thing to do in Mackinaw City is the Jack Pine lumberjack shows. Here's what awesomemitten.com has to say:

Highlighting the area’s logging history, Jack Pine Lumberjack Shows are very entertaining and educational. The competitive shows take you back to the late 1800s when logging was an important part of the economy. World-class lumberjacks compete in logrolling, chopping, ax throwing, sawing, and speed climbing for the “Bull of the Woods” title. There are chainsaw carving demonstrations and log boom runs as well. The fast pace of the shows keeps you involved.

Not only is there lots of sights to see in Mackinaw City, but they are many historical sites and museums to check out as well. And let's not forget about the many Michigan lighthouses to tour while you're there.

One area of Mackinaw City that my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed is the "Colonial Michilimackinac Historic State Park."

According to awesomemitten.com:

The park features a reconstructed 1700s French military outpost and fur-trading village — Fort Michilimackinac. Everything is based on historic maps and archaeological excavations.

The next time you get the chance to take your entire family to Mackinaw City, don't hesitate. Pack your bags and book a few tours of Mackinaw City and Michigan Lighthouses.
