Detroit was settled in 1701.....
...that's right...over 300 years ago...
but this is not a history of Detroit.....
I just thought you needed to know how long it’s been around.

All this is, is simply a fun look at how downtown Detroit and some of its shops looked around 200 years later, in the early 1900s.

In the image gallery below, you’ll see a baker’s dozen of old photos including Woodward Avenue, a couple of cafes, fruit stores, a bar, and a few others that I’m not sure WHAT they are.....but it’s a brief glimpse of what downtown Detroit was like at the turn of the 20th Century...
