Car Snow Boogers in Michigan: Where Not To Kick Them Off
Is there anything more enticing, more irresistible than the siren song of icy build-up in your vehicle's wheel wells during a frigid Michigan winter? This gunk, commonly referred to as "Snow Boogers," is nothing more than evidence that the state's longest season won't even leave our car frames alone.

Yet the urge to kick these little chunks off the instant we see them—it's like they have their own gravitational pull. But for the sake of those who have to clean up your mess, we'd like to remind you of Michigan's unspoken Snow Booger etiquette.
Why Gas Station Parking Lots Are Ground Zero
To put it plainly: you wouldn't walk into someone else's driveway to scrape a mess off your shoe, just as you shouldn't leave your car's Snow Boogers for someone else to clean up. The most common place to clear those wheel wells is gas station parking lots. If you don't think so, take a look at the impressive collection the next time you get fuel.

Michigan's Business Owners Are Over It
For confirmation, we reached out to Mark Potts, owner, operator, and Head of Snow Booger removal at Bob's Country Store in Jackson, Michigan, who had A LOT to say on the topic (most of which isn't appropriate for young eyes, but we'll paraphrase).
"Stop. The. Madness." Potts uttered, an instant tone of irritation in his voice. He, like any business owner, takes pride in the way his gas station looks, and that frustration is multiplied with every shovel full of Snow Booger he scoops up. "It seems like the more concrete people see, the more they want to leave their Snow Boogers for us to clean up!", Potts lamented.

The Right Place to Remove Snow Boogers
So, unless you're the kind of Michigander who instantly puts their greasy hands on the glass at a Subway restaurant, don't be the person who kicks their Snow Boogers off in someone else's parking lot. Leave that for your own driveway.
