The Chelsea native has spent decades balancing Hollywood success with deep roots back home, and now he's bringing that connection to Jackson for a free community celebration at the Michigan Theatre downtown.

The Michigan Theatre has been part of downtown Jackson since 1930 and continues serving as one of the city's most recognizable entertainment landmarks. Bringing in Daniels for the celebration feels fitting considering his longtime commitment to Michigan through projects like Chelsea's Purple Rose Theatre Company. Daniels also filmed his 2002 movie Super Sucker in Jackson and held a premiere of his movie Gods and Generals at the Michigan Theatre in 2003.
