Eben Junction, located in Alger County, originated as a station on the Munising Railway. Founded by a group of Finns, the village became official in 1908 when a post office was implemented.

Considered a ghost town by some, it's really just a small village with few people and a couple of eateries to get some food.

As far as the town's history, that's about it.

There is one thing though, that brings visitors to Eben Junction: the Eben Ice Caves. Also known as the Rock River Canyon Ice Caves, visitors come during wintertime to see these marvels.

These are spectacular, not formed by any falls or running water: the caves form when snow melts and slowly runs over the edge of a cliff and freezes, which form unique caves you can enter. They are gone by summer. See photos by using the above link..
