Michigan Spring Break Travel: The 10 Worst Airports For Delays
We are approaching that wonderful time of year when Michigan residents pack up their belongings, hop into a car or plane, and retreat from the unpredictable Mitten State weather for warmer climates. The last thing you want is for your trip to sunshine and sunburn to be delayed, but if you're traveling to America's 10 worst airports for delays (see complete list below this article), you'd better plan on it.

Spring Break, while short, is direly needed after several months of grey skies, shoveling snow, and scraping ice from windshields. However, even the most well-planned trips can be sidelined by things far beyond your checklist's control.
Other Than the Universe Hating You, Here's Why Flights Are Most Often Delayed
Before you end up screaming at the departure board, remember that most flight delays are there to keep the passengers safe—and airborne, two things I very much appreciate when flying. Here's what's more than likely causing your travel nightmare:
- Not Enough Staff - Just like everybody else, airlines are dealing with worker shortages, but thankfully, they aren't asking us to fly the plane or serve drinks...yet
- Too Many People - Everyone from Lansing, Detroit, Grand Rapids, and all points in Michigan are looking to take a vacation at the same time which makes for longer security lines and more chances for something to go wrong.
- Weather - Look, it's Michigan. Mother Nature looks at a beautiful day here and says, "Well, I can fix that."
- Airport Construction - Just when you knew where everything was, they've gotta go and do a renovation.
Where Are the Worst Spring Break Delays
Oh, you're not gonna like this list. Why? It's chock-full of Michigan's favorite winter weather escapes.
If you're destinations are on the list, consider booking an earlier flight, as morning flights are less likely to be delayed. Safe travels.
