In Michigan, unsolved cases do not disappear. They wait. And sometimes, they resurface in unexpected places, like a deck of playing cards.

Michigan’s Cold Cases Are Being Dealt Into a Deck

Crime Stoppers of Flint and Genesee County launched an Unsolved Cold Cases deck of playing cards, each featuring a real Michigan case still seeking answers. The idea is simple and effective. Put these cards in corrections facilities and into the community, spark conversations, and hope the right memory lands in the right hands.

MLive reports Ashton D. Hull was just 20 years old when he was killed in Flint. On the night of August 5, 2013, police were called to a home in the 700 block of East Marengo Avenue, near Saginaw Street. Inside, Ashton was found on the living room floor, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

A handgun was recovered near the home. Witnesses reported seeing one man flee the scene. The suspect has not been identified, and no arrest has been made. More than a decade later, Ashton's case remains unsolved.

The Ace of Hearts is not just a card. It represents a life interrupted and a family still waiting for answers. Crime Stoppers hopes that by keeping Ashton Hull's face and name in circulation, someone who knows something will finally come forward. Maybe you...
