Another one bites the dust....literally.

Sears headquarters, located in the Hoffman Estates on the outskirts of Chicago, began demolition in August 2024.

Sears' filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October 2018 and announced on January 16, 2019, that it won its bankruptcy auction. That being said, a reduced number of 425 stores remained open, including 223 Sears stores.

Nevertheless, the headquarters were history. Crews began ripping it down in the summer of 2024, but not before a videographer was able to get inside and get some final images. It is kind of a shame, as the place didn’t look all that bad to begin with.

Located at 3333 Beverly Road, Sears moved into these headquarters in 1992, after being lured away from its previous location in the Sears Tower, now called the Willis Tower.

There are now only 11 Sears stores left. A new data center eventually will be built on the site.
