Many of us daydream about what it would be like to win the lottery. Personally, if I played the lottery and found out that I won over $1 billion it would probably send me into a panic attack and I’m not sure I would come out of it alive to be able to enjoy the winnings.

But since we, unfortunately, will most likely never win the lottery, and because we don’t live in a Star Trek utopian society, all of us will continue to dream about what it would be like to not have to worry about finances. A study was recently conducted by online gaming groups to find out the states that were most likely to win $1 billion lottery jackpot:

A new study reveals that the state most likely to win the lottery jackpot is California, having 8 winners in the 25 biggest US jackpots. Florida, New Hampshire and South Carolina stand out as the states that have no state taxes on lottery winnings. South Carolina’s only lottery winner took home one of the biggest jackpots in US history at 1.5B dollars.

How Many Michigan Billion-Dollar Lottery Winners Have There Been?

Michigan came in ninth with only one winner who won $1 billion in Illinois came in third having two winners with total jackpots equaling more than one and a half billion dollars. So there’s something to help for, and you know what they say if you don’t play, you don’t win.
