Mid-Michigan Student Athlete of the Week: Kaitlyn Johnson
Dowding Industries and the Lansing Sports Commission present the High School Student-Athlete of the Week.
And this week's winner is Kaitlyn Johnson, a junior on the Haslett HS girls basketball team.

Kaitlyn is a main cog in the Vikings CAAC Red championship campaign. She is averaging 13 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game this season, including 9 double-doubles (double figures in points and rebounds) and 38 made three-pointers.
That includes a 21 point, 13 rebound performance in a comeback victory over East Lansing last week. And she scored 18 points in their victory over St. Johns in their CAAC Red finale.
Kaitlyn and star teammate (and fellow junior) Christina Dixon look to lead the lady Vikings on a long tournament run in Division 2 this March.
Johnson is a terrific student, carrying a 3.8 grade point average. She would like to play basketball in college and already has several Division 2 scholarship offers as a junior. And she wants to study sports psychology when she gets to college.
You can nominate someone as a High School Student-Athlete of the Week by going to the Lansing Sports Network app.
And congratulations to Haslett HS junior Kaitlyn Johnson of the girls basketball team. She's the High School Student-Athlete of the Week.
And it's brought to you every week by Dowding Industries and the Lansing Sports Commission.
