Great News It’s Not Expensive To Live in Michigan! Where Is The Most Expensive?
The price of living has ratcheted up or quite awhile. Inflation is down to 3.2% on a national level in February, inflation (based on consumer price index change) and far lower than the 9.1% peak of June 2022. So we're all feeling a bit more relaxed.
No doubt, it's still expensive just to exist, right? But, we in Michigan seem to be in a good place.
According to a new survey of the most expensive states to live from 24/7 Wall, comparing the cost of living in American states, Michigan ranked at number 42. In other words, Michigan is the ninth least expensive state to live in the U.S. Not too bad.

For example, our inflation rate is only 2.6% and the cost of housing is 22.9% less than the U.S. average. All in all life is pretty good here.
By the way, the least expensive state to live is Oklahoma.
MOVING ON
But, if you're planning to move anytime soon, watch out for the east coast and west coast and a state way out in an ocean. They are very expensive.
