Perrigo Recalls Baby Formula Sold in Michigan
As a new mom, there's nothing scarier than something affecting your baby's formula. Between recalls and shortages over the past few years, it's super important to keep an eye out to make sure you're serving the best for your little one.
And if you're a parent like me, here's another recall you'll want to check out: Perrigo Co., a company based in Allegan, Michigan (as well as Dublin, Ireland) has voluntarily recalled 16,500 cans of baby formula sold at CVS stores here in Michigan and other states due to elevated levels of Vitamin D.
The recall affects the store brand Premium Infant Formula with Iron Milk-Based Powder, which may contain Vitamin D levels above the maximum permitted amount. The recalled formula was shipped to CVS stores starting on February 2, 2024. And, affected cans can be identified by the following lot code:
T11LMYC – USE BY 11NOV2025 (Material: 975261, UPC: 050428318034).
It’s important to note that no other lot codes are involved in this recall.
Consumers who have purchased the affected formula should stop using it immediately. While Perrigo has not reported any adverse health effects associated with this recall, excessive Vitamin D intake in infants can lead to serious health issues such as hypercalcemia, which can cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and kidney problems.
If your infant has used the recalled formula and is experiencing any unusual symptoms, it is recommended to report them to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online. For additional information or concerns, customers are encouraged to contact Perrigo directly or consult with their healthcare provider.
