We all thought this was the Detroit Lions year. Now fans are slowly taking down the Lions tributes like the 'This is Our Year' banner on a building in Detroit.
Detroit Lions' Best Season Ever
The Detroit Lions had the best season in 2024 with a franchise record of 15-2. The Lions scored the 11th most points in a single season in NFL history. Quarterback Jared Goff threw a perfect game. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs had an amazing season which helped the Lions get their first-ever number 1 seed in the NFC.

In the last three years, Lions fans went from wearing bags over their heads to the 2024 season where fans nearly packed opposing teams' stadiums. A life-size Amon St. Brown cake was on display in a Michigan bakery with many businesses and homeowners showing support with decorations. After getting eliminated by the Washington Commanders in the playoffs at home, sadly fans are cutting the cake and taking down the banners.

In my lifetime I have never seen such support for the Detroit Lions. It blew my mind when the 'This Is Our Year' banner was hung on the side of a building in downtown Detroit on Woodward Avenue that inspired the team and us fans. Sadly, the banner is being taken down. Let's see what the folks on the Detroit Reddit page had to say about:
