This is the Top Must-Try Bucket List Burger Joint in Michigan

What's a burger joint in Michigan you'd define as "can't miss"? Check out this Mitten State eatery getting national attention for serving up the best burgers.

Foodie publication Lovefood.com sought to find the top bucket list burger joint in each state. Their list includes everything from hole-in-the-wall spots, to fast food restaurants, to fine dining establishments.

Michigan restaurants we've seen recognized for their stellar burgers recently include California Burgerz in in Warren and Hamtramck, Motz Burgers in Detroit and Redford, and Taystee's Burgers in Dearborn.

This time around, a different restaurant is being honored. Lovefood's pick for best burger joint in Michigan is Slabtown Burgers in Traverse City.

Located at 826 W Front St. Slabtown srrves up homemade, hand-pattied burgers with a variety of toppings like the Olive Burger, Mushroom Burger, Chili Cheeseburger, and TC Cherry Burger, with has Traverse City dried cherries, blue cheese, grilled onions, and mayo. 

There's also a build-your-own burger option, stuffed burgers, black bean and veggie burgers, even a "surf and turf" burger that combines smelt with a cheeseburger. 

At Slabtown you'll also find salads, soups, wraps, shakes and malts.

Side options are  hand-cut fries, sweet potato fries, chili cheese fries, gravy fries, bacon cheese fried, tater tots, onion rings.
