Drinking is something that has always held the people of America together while also bringing them together in so many different ways. I mean, they literally couldn't exist without the presence of alcohol as speakeasies and other private establishments were created to give individuals somewhere to drink during prohibition. Eventually, things were changed back to normal, and you saw a large boom in the bar business.

Many people started to open bars, distilleries, and liquor stores as they understood that drinking was one thing people would do until the end of time. The bar going culture has completely changed now as that is the go-to place to celebrate birthdays, accomplishments, and other notable dates but it's also the place to look for a significant other. There are dive bars, high-end bars, college themed bars, and more out there but just like anything else, nothing is created equally as this Michigan bar isn't just better than the rest in the state but is one of the best in America.

If you asked anyone in Michigan to name the best bar in the state, I would assure you that 100% of the answers would be in either Grand Rapids or Detroit, unless you happen to ask someone who owns, or their family owns a bar themselves. They are the two largest cities in the state and easily have the best city and night life options to offer residents and visitors. This time, Detroit takes the cake again as the best bar in the state was found in Detroit's Downtown District.

Paramita Sound is unlike any other bar you will encounter which may be what gives it the one up on the rest of its competition. While they do have a great wine collection, that isn't what draws people to their venue. Paramita Sound is wine and records bar that is known for using music to bring together people of all backgrounds, demographics, ages, cultures, and more.

Paramita sound is a quaint Black owned space in Downtown Detroit that is described in the following words by the Des Moines Register and Lyndsay C. Green of the Detroit Free Press:

Live DJs – both local and national, up-and-coming and acclaimed – pack the space with a lively crowd of imbibers sipping sorrel cocktails or Michigan reds and dancing the Detroit Hustle to just about any track. When the room lined with old records and a photo of Paramita’s humble beginnings out of an old home in the West Village neighborhood fills, the party spills into the streets of Detroit to continue into the wee hours of the night.

I personally have never been to Paramita Sound, but I may have to make a stop there the next time I am in the Motor City. Have you ever been to Paramita Sound? Do you think this deserves to be the best in Michigan and one of the best in the country or should another Michigan bar have this honor?
