The 167th Ingham County Fair is now open in Mason. If it's the midway you enjoy, the livestock, or even the food, you will find it at the Ingham County Fair.

This year's fair will have no grandstand attractions, but you can still have a delicious elephant ear, some cotton candy, french fries with vinegar, a lemonade, or whatever kind of fair food you love while strolling down the midway.

Love a good fair? There are a ton of them happening within driving distance of Lansing! Here's a full guide.

August is a huge time for fairs and festivals in Michigan. One of my favorites is The Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven. The festival, that honors our men and women who serve in the Coast Guard, brings thousands to the beautiful city on Lake Michigan.  The Coast Guard Craft Fair is one of my favorites. I highly recommend this, it is the perfect day trip.

Elk Rapids Harbor Days kick off tomorrow. The event, which features dock and boat decorating, music, crafts, and a lot of fun with some alcohol thrown into the mix, starts on the 4th and runs through Saturday.

Gogebic, in the Upper Peninsula, has their county fair that starts this Friday, August 6th, and runs through the weekend. This is a lovely area to visit and to camp in.

Swing over to the West side of our state and check out Holland's Art in the Park this Saturday. The event is at Centennial Park, and right now the weekend weather looks fantastic. This would be another great day trip.

Saturday in Jackson it's the 2021 Jackson Art, Beer, and Wine Festival.  Three of my most favorite things. That is happening at Ella Sharp on Saturday the 7th.

This is just a small sampling of all the fun happening around Michigan during the month of August. You can find more at Michigan.org.

If you don't want to travel too far, remember to check out all of the fairs within two hours of Lansing.
