Saturday afternoon in Lansing was beautiful. Early fall with summer like weather. Not too hot. A lil breezy. It felt nice to get outside and stretch the old legs for a minute.

I have a friend who just moved into town and he wanted to go out to dinner and see what our lovely city has to offer. So I suggested Old Town and we went to one of my favorite spots there "Meat".

Pro tip, TRY THE DOUBLE HEIFER! I was a sucker for the Pork Belly Reuben before but now I have a new favorite.

We walked around and stopped by "The Grid" and played a few old school pinball/video games.

Walked by one of the best ice cream stands in the city, Arctic Corner. And mind you they are closing but just for the SEASON.

As the evening winded down and we headed back to our respective cars, I noticed something I didn't beforehand when I parked. I almost parked in the Spiral parking lot but I didn't know if it was a private lot and didn't even think they were open for business (dance bar, pandemic).

I had parked across the street from the club and the parking lot.

And as I went back to my car, I saw this.

Uh oh. Wait. No...

So I walked up the steps to the door to look in.

Nothing. No new flyers or anything. Looking through the front door, It just looked like they hadn't been open for a while. Nothing too alarming. But walking around the building...

Another sign.

And the bushes and trees not trimmed and now obscuring the signs outside.

These were all the signs of something not good.

Their social media said nothing about it. The last thing Spiral had on Facebook was about their Virtual Miss Gay Michigan United States At Large 2020 Pageant.

I called and got their voicemail and the box was full.

So I went searching for commercial property for sale in Lansing. And there it was.

The building itself listed for sale. To the tune of almost $700,000.

1247 Center Street, Retail Building, $675K at about $139 per square feet. 

Again, no official word from the crew at Spiral. But it would appear that sadly the pandemic has claimed another business and they have had their last dance.
