If you just graduated or about to and wondering what help you can get for college loans....well help is here for you.

There is a new program on now that helps Michigan residents dealing with student loan debt. According to Michigan.gov, the state treasury department will be offering free one-on-one counseling to Michigan residents who are delinquent on their federal student loans. With the one year pilot program, the department will be partnering with a division of the National Student Loan Program and participants will work with counselors to develop a repayment plan, learn how to create a household budget and better understand credit scores.

As of 2015, Michigan students leave school with an average of $30,045 of debt versus the national average of $30,100. The pilot program is open to sign ups through January 1st 2018.  To sign up and to learn more, click here.
