A couple of former Michigan State Spartan basketball stars have joined the Team Detroit squad that hopes to play in this summer's The Basketball Tournament.

Kalin Lucas (pictured) and Durrell Summers, who played on the Michigan State team that advanced to the National Championship game in 2009 before losing to North Carolina in the title game at Ford Field, have signed to play in the winner take all tournament.

This year will be the 7th year that The Basketball Tournament will be played.  $2 million will go out to the winner of this tournament.

Team Detroit hopes to be among the 64 teams selected to play.  They are currently ineligible as of this writing.  The application period ends on June 15th.
