How Lucky Is Michigan Compared To All The Other States?
In the past year or so it's definitely been sometimes challenging to find ourselves "lucky"...however, in the grand scheme of things we absolutely are!
Everyone has different definitions of luck and some people you absolutely have to feel bad for their seemingly endless bouts of "unluckiness" or just bad luck in general.
With St. Patrick's day a little over a week away, it is a time where luck gets its time to shine!
So whether you are "up all night" to get it, or relying on the Irish to give you some of theirs, luck can be found anywhere...even here in Michigan!
As St. Paddy's day approaches, the green beer gets prepared and we all dig into the backs of our closets to find our one green shirt, Zippia looked into which states are collectively more lucky than the rest.
Now, as mentioned before, there are many different indicators of luck but for this purpose Zippia decided to look at tangible, measurable things such as numbers of lottery winners, average life expectancy, unemployment and car accident deaths (a bit morbid, I know).
These factors, combined, mad it so Minnesota was dubbed the luckiest state whereas Michigan falls to about the middle coming in as the 28th luckiest state.
While we have one more lotto winner than Minnesota our life expectancy in Michigan is 78 years, two short of Minnesota's. We also had three more car accident deaths than Minnesota.
All in all, while the facts and figures tell us we're in the middle of the pack when it comes to luck, we know that we are the luckiest of them all because...well, because we are in Michigan, duh!
While we talk about life expectancy being an indicator of luck, here are the states where people live the longest:
