Historic Grand Ledge House Burned Down
After a fire late Tuesday night, a century-old house on the north end of the city, was destroyed by fire. The historic home was built in 1890, by one of the community's founding families and at one time was used as a hospital.
The huge three-story home at 815 North Clinton Street, was vacant for the last six months, and had been under renovation. Around 8 pm was when the first call came into the Grand Ledge Fire Dept and after the fire was put out was confirmed by the Fire Dept to be a total loss. Luckily no one was living in the house or were inside during the fire so no fatalities were reported.
The Grand Ledge Fire Dept are still looking into what caused the fire, but you can see more about it here.
