      Last week, the pop star revealed that her friend Thomas had passed away on Tuesday night (Oct. 8), following a battle with addiction. Though she was heartbroken over the loss, Lovato — who has battled addiction herself — urged her followers to get help if they or someone they know is currently struggling with substance abuse. “Addiction is NO joke,” she wrote.       A new survey by HP shows that six out of every ten Americans admit to "looking at their partner's private text messages and photos at some point without them knowing." Even more alarming?   • Sesame Street Tackles parental Addiction Crisis in a Way Kids Can Understand
    Sesame Street is tackling the opioid crisis through a new character named Karli, a bright green, yellow-haired friend of Elmo's whose mother is battling addiction. Show creators said they turned to the issue of addiction since data shows 5.7 million children under age 11 live in households with a parent who suffers from substance use disorder.
  • Uber Throws Dog Owners a Bone
    Uber will unveil a pet ride-hailing option in some cities starting Oct. 16. Uber Pet, a new option for folks traveling with non-service animals, will start testing the new ride option in Austin, Denver, Nashville, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Tampa Bay.
  • Harry Styles Creates Website That Generates Positive Messages for Fans
    The pop star has launched a mysterious self-care compliment generator in promotion of his new music. When fans log onto DoYouKnowWhoYouAre.com and input their name, they will receive uplifting messages like "you're a whole snack" and "you are powerful."   • Former NFL Player DeAngelo Williams Pays for 500 Mammograms to Honor Late Mom
    The former running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers first started covering the cost of mammograms for women in 2015 after his mother, Sandra Hill, passed away from breast cancer at age 53. Wanting to honor his late female family members, DeAngelo decided to help women across the nation by paying for their mammogram screenings through his nonprofit organization, The DeAngelo Williams Foundation. Since he began the initiative, DeAngelo and his foundation have paid for a total of 500 mammograms at hospitals in Pittsburgh, Memphis, Jonesboro and Charlotte. (via People)
  • Tekashi 6ix9ine Scores Prison Record Deal
    A record label is banking on Tekashi 6ix9ine getting out of prison sooner than later and surviving all the snitching he did, because it's investing big bucks on the rapper making music again. Sources close to Tekashi tell TMZ that the rapper just cut a record deal worth more than $10 million with his former label, 10K Projects. (via TMZ)
