Happy Story! County Animal Shelter Adoptions Up In 2016
Here's a happy story to start your 2017 and end your week!
If you adopted a pet last year from the Ingham County Animal Shelter or Capital Area Humane Society, then thank you because not only are you helping an animal but helping your community. It was announced this week on their facebook page that both shelters have had thousands of adoptions, and not only cats and dogs, but also geese, ducks, cows, and even a turkey.
First, the Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter had more than 1600 pets and livestock adoptions in 2016. That’s up almost 20 percent from the year before. Finally the Capital Area Humane Society placed more than 3700 pets in new homes including adoptions for turtles and rabbits.
So hopefully that story can end your week on a good note and hope you have a great weekend.
