Happy First Day of Summer! Enjoy This Extra Sunlight
Today, June 21st, is the Summer Solstice and that means that it is the kick off to summer and also means we more sunlight today too!
On the Summer Solstice the sun is closest to the Earth and the Earth is also on its most axis allowing for the extra sun. After today though you can expect days to be shorter by 2 mins until we eventually kick off Fall and then Winter. Some parts of Michigan will get more sunlight then others and you can actually check how much sunlight you will be getting here.
Lansing should be getting about 15 hours and 20 mins of sunlight today with sunset at about 9:19PM and the last light we should be seeing will be at 9:54PM! So enjoy the extra sunlight today and all this week as it is full of long and sunny days.
