Grand Ledge Mayor To Step Down After Over 20 Years

It was announced at the last town meeting that the mayor of Grand Ledge Kalmin Smith would be stepping down.  Mayor Kalmin Smith has been with Grand Ledge for over 20 years being elected and reelected 5 times! He is also known as the longest serving mayor in the city's history.

Mayor Pro-Tem, Thom Sowle was appointed Mayor at the time that Smith stepped down. Sowle will be Mayor of Grand Ledge for the rest of the term which is about half over now.

The reason for Mayor Kalmin Smith stepping down is that he is planning to spend more time with his family that lives out of state.
