Due to the effects of Hurricane Harvey the Lansing area (and the nation at large) is starting to see gas prices surge. According to USA Today, “U.S. motorists are likely to experience an increase of up to 25 cents per gallon in some areas” because gasoline refineries in the Texas Gulf Coast are being affected.

According to the Gasbuddy app, which gets their info by users, gas prices in Lansing and the surrounding area has gone up about 30 cents or more. The Speedway on the corner of Jolly and Dunckel, which I go to frequently, is now $2.65. The price at the station was $2.11 about 2 weeks ago and was $2.33 on Monday! You can also scope out your local stations here via gasbuddy.
