With food rationing and home portioning, it's good to know the following foods can be frozen:

BACON
Sure, you can freeze the whole unopened bag, but if you put portions in separate baggies, you can use only what you need.

CHEESE
Block cheese or grated can be frozen, but no more than 6 months. Don't waste your time freezing cottage cheese...it won't do well.

CHOCOLATE
This one is a no-brainer. Just keep it covered. It will last longer than most other foods.

EGGS
Crack the eggs into a muffin tray, freeze, then pop them out into a sealed baggie or container. Don't freeze 'em in the shell.

MASHED POTATOES
After cooking, plop some mashed 'taters on a baking sheet and coat with butter and/or cream...this will make it freeze better.

MILK
Make sure you freeze it before its expiration date and the container is tightly sealed. Keep in mind, milk expands when frozen so make sure there's enough room in the container for when it swells. You can keep milk frozen for up to 6 months...but the sooner you use it, the better. Defrost completely IN THE REFRIGERATOR before using.

RICE
Immediately put in a ziplock freezer bag after cooking. If you let it cool down too long, bacteria will set in. Once frozen, chip off portions you wanna use.
