Before you go reaching for any snacks you may have stashed in the freezer, or maybe even that drawer in your desk (you know which one), you should probably check on some of the information on the packaging.

A voluntary recall is currently under investigation, after a shopper found metal fragments in certain strawberry products. That alone is a major red flag, as it could have hard or sharp bits that could cut your mouth or throat.

What Products Are Involved in the Recall?

There are a few products that are specifically being recalled. Specifically, certain strawberry items, coated in dark and white chocolate, plus a strawberries-and-cream version.

Information on the Recalled Product

Stores like Target, Kroger, CVS, and even some online retailers would have sold this product to you. No injuries have been reported following the product recall, and Tru Fru says a manufacturer had flagged the issue after the consumer complaint.

How To Check The Bag

The product is relatively easy to check on. Flip it over, and find the ten-digit manufacturing code on the back. The company lists the first four characters that identify the recalled lots.

If yours matches the recall, don't eat it. You should seal it and toss it, or return it to the store you purchased it from.

You can also reach out to Tru Fru for reimbursement and more guidance. Retailers have pulled all products from the shelves at this time.
